Development Chemist (6 month contract); £Competitve.
The Job
We need an experienced synthetic organic chemist to join our team for a fixed term contract period of 6 months. Depending on the project outcome and future requirements, this term may be extended. The successful candidate will be responsible for the method development, synthesis and process scale-up of several new products in accordance with the quality specifications agreed with our customers.
The Person
We are looking for a knowledgeable organic chemist with a proven strong practical ability and experience of laboratory-scale synthetic and method development work. Enthusiasm and self-motivation are critical in a small company environment that encourages individual responsibility and continuous personal development. Excellent time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines are essential to this role. We need someone who can effectively communicate, summarise and report results to colleagues on a regular basis as well as having excellent problem-solving skills. A degree in Chemistry is essential.
The Company
Link Technologies is an independent, privately owned company, trading since 1989. We have been at our present location on the Strathclyde Business Park since 2000. We currently employ 22 people, mainly scientific staff to carry out the research, development, manufacture and sales of our products.
Our products are designed for use in the molecular biology and biotechnology research market, with applications in the pharmaceutical and diagnostic sector. Our customers are research scientists in universities, research institutes, biotechnology, pharmaceutical and diagnostic companies.
