Why we don't sell high-load columns
We have been asked on a number of occasions to supply our SynBase™ 500/110 H CPG products in columns. We don't do this for a very simple reason: whatever the loading on the CPG, a fixed-scale column will still afford the same yield. A 1μmol column filled with 500/110 S material (loading 30-60μmol/g) will afford the same yield as a 1μmol column filled with 500/110 H material (loading 60-110μmol/g); there will just be more standard loading CPG in the column. Therefore we only list the 40nmol, 0.2μmol and 1μmol columns for the 500/110 S product.
Of course, the beauty of the high-load material is the higher yield per gram of support. Therefore in applications involving large-scale synthesis, where maximum yield is key, the bulk high load material is ideal.
